Please note, for faith-based priority if you want your child to be considered under the school's religious or faith criteria, you must fill out a SIF (Supplementary Information Form) alongside your standard Local Authority application. Each of our Trust Catholic schools usually has its own specific version of this form, which must be returned directly to the school by the standard January admissions deadline. If you don't fill the form out, your application will still be valid, but the school will rank it in a lower category (usually as a non-faith application), which significantly reduces your child's chances of getting a place if the school is oversubscribed.
Children are not legally required to start school until the term following their fifth birthday. In Lancashire, however, all children who have their 5th birthday between 1 September 2027 and 31 August 2028 may start school in September 2027 if their parents / carers wish it.

The statutory closing date is 15 January 2027 and you will be notified of the outcome on the 16th April 2027 or the next working day by the Local Authority.

In Year Admissions are admissions to school that take place outside the normal admissions rounds (ie Reception and Year 7.)
If you are new to the area and require a school place or if you already reside in the area and you want to move your child from their current local school to one of our schools within the Trust, your application should be made directly to the school and the child will be admitted where there are available places.
An application can be made for a place for a child at any time outside the admission round and the child will be admitted where there are available places. An application should be made and returned to the desired school by completing the in-year admissions application form (available from the school.) The school’s Supplementary Information Form (SIF) should also be completed if applying on faith grounds.
If you have any questions in relation to in-year admissions, please contact the school office or email where they will be happy to support you with this. You may ring the school office to confirm that the form (and other accompanying evidence, such as a baptismal certificate) has been received. Your application will be acknowledged upon receipt and you will be advised of the outcome accordingly.
Where places are available, but there are more applications than places, the published oversubscription criteria will be applied, to ensure the correct child/children are offered the places. If there are no places available, the child will be added to a waiting list and you have the right of appeal. Please check each schools individual appeal's process information. Please note, that the waiting list does NOT guarantee a place at a school and if your child is currently not in education you should either make an appeal to the school and/or apply for a place at an alternative school.
