Mater Ecclesiae Catholic Multi Academy Trust is currently seeking to recruit Foundation Governors for a number of its schools' Local Governing Bodies (LGBs) across the Trust.
Role of the Local Governing Body (LGB)
The Local Governing Body plays a vital role in supporting the mission and strategic direction of the Catholic Multi Academy Trust at a local level. Rooted in the values and teachings of the Catholic Church, it serves as a key link between the academy, its parish community and the wider Trust.
Key Responsibilities
Faithful Stewardship and Ethos
- Uphold and promote the Catholic identity, values and mission of the academy.
- Ensure Gospel principles guide all aspects of school life.
Advocacy and Ambassadorship
- Promote the Trust’s vision and strategy.
- Act as ambassadors for the school within the Trust, parish and wider community.
- Help build partnerships.
Support and Accountability
- Provide local support and challenge to school leaders.
- Monitor standards, inclusion and safeguarding.
- Ensure effective implementation of Trust policies.
The LGB operates within the governance framework established by the Trust, with delegated responsibilities defined by the Trust. Through collaboration, faith and service, the LGB contributes to each school flourishing as a place of excellence, faith formation and holistic development.
